..Title Authorizing the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development to conduct hearings on whether the parking facilities, and the operations pertaining thereto, at the Philadelphia International Airport should remain under the jurisdiction of the Philadelphia Parking Authority or be transferred to the Aviation Division of the City of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, The Philadelphia International Airport is the only major airport in the country that does not operate its own parking facilities; and WHEREAS, The Philadelphia International Airport currently operates the parking facilities at Philadelphia International Airport; and WHEREAS, The Philadelphia International Airport is better equipped with the expertise, resources, and capabilities than is the Philadelphia Parking Authority to meet the unique and constantly growing and changing needs of those who use the parking facilities at the airport; and WHEREAS, The revenue generated by the parking facilities at the Philadelphia International Airport should be allocated directly to the Aviation Fund to assist the airport in meeting its growing needs; and RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development is hereby authorized to conduct hearings on whether the parking facilities, and the operations pertaining thereto, at the Philadelphia International Airport should remain under the jurisdiction of the Philadelphia Parking Authority or be transferred to the Aviation Division of the City of Philadelphia.
