..Title Honoring the Community College of Philadelphia Men's Basketball Team for winning the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association Championship. ..Body WHEREAS, Community College of Philadelphia's Athletic Program has won twenty-three (23) basketball championships in the past thirty-three (33) years; and WHEREAS, The Community College of Philadelphia's Men's Basketball Team, under the leadership of Coach Larry Conti, concluded their season victoriously with a 31-2 record; and WHEREAS, On Sunday, February 20, 2000, the Community College of Philadelphia "Colonials" defeated Community College of Beaver County 101-96; and WHEREAS, Community College of Beaver County were the nationally ranked, four time, defending State Champions; and WHEREAS, The members of the team are Michael Ajedho, Marcellus Boone, Sharif Brown, Jason Clayton, Ellis Gindraw, Rogers Glispy, Denelle Holly, Bill Keene and Akil Moody; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Community College of Philadelphia Men's Basketball Team; and RESOLVED FURTHER, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Conti as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
