..Title Honoring the Pennsylvania State Military Reserve, Philadelphia Volunteers for their efforts on behalf of the Citizens of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ..Body WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State Military Reserve, Philadelphia Volunteers was created for the protection and well being of Pennsylvanians; and WHEREAS, Members of the reserve are citizens and soldiers dedicated to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, The reserve is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization; and WHEREAS, The reserve is chartered with over twenty missions that serve the community including ceremonial activities at parades and funerals, community service, disaster relief with FEMA and PEMA, ROTC support, search and rescue and law enforcement assistance; and WHEREAS, The reserve provides training in communications, first aid, search and rescue, crowd control, and community emergency response training; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we recognize the Pennsylvania State Military Reserve and the Philadelphia Volunteers for its benevolent service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Citizens of Philadelphia. ..End
