..Title Honoring the Frankford High School wrestling team on its sixth consecutive Public League Championship. ..Body WHEREAS, The Frankford High School wrestling team won an unprecedented sixth consecutive Public League championship on February 15, 2002; and WHEREAS, The 58-10 victory over Northeast I-ugh School was an example of the strength of the Frankford wrestling family as former players traveled back to view the match; and WHEREAS, The outcome of the match was decided in the first two matches with Sterling Sturgis coming from behind in points to win with a pin in the 103 pound match and with Freshman Ryan Madera scoring a reversal in the 112 pound match to lead Frankford to a 9-0 lead; and WHEREAS, Brothers Ryan and Jason McCune both scored victories for Frankford; and WHEREAS, Other wrestlers who scored victories for Frankford included Rob Roman (119 lbs.), Jack McGettigan (130 lbs.), Arnold Mullins (140 lbs.), Jared Medina (145 lbs.), Mike Rodriquez (160 lbs.), Anthony Clark (180 lbs.), Joe Farina (215 lbs.) and Mike Robinson (275 lbs.); and WHEREAS, Frankford completed its season undefeated; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor the Frankford High School wrestling team on its sixth consecutive Public League Championship. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to coach Bob Peffle as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body. ..End
