..Title Declaring October 2002 as Human Relations Month in the City of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations (PCHR), is the agency of city government which enforces civil rights laws and deals with all matters of intergroup conflict within the City; and WHEREAS, Each year, the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations coordinates the City's observance of Human Relations to celebrate diversity; and WHEREAS, A highlight of Human Relations Month will be the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations' 2002 Human Rights Award Luncheon, which will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2002, in the Grand Ballroom of the Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza; and WHEREAS, This year's Human Rights Awards Luncheon will honor individuals and organizations whose extraordinary good deeds and initiatives have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of intergroup harmony and cooperation; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the month of October 2002 be declared Human Relations Month in the City of Philadelphia. RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations, as an expression of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body. ..End
