..Title Amending Title 11 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Streets," by adding a section requiring approval of City Council before certain permits are granted allowing the closure of City streets, under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Title 11 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Streets," is hereby amended as follows: TITLE 11. STREETS * * * CHAPTER 11-600. CONSTRUCTION, ENCROACHMENTS AND PROJECTIONS OVER, ON AND UNDER STREETS * * * §11-610. Permission For Street Closure. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code to the contrary, no permits shall be issued or renewed allowing any street or any part of any street to be closed in connection with a private construction or demolition project for longer than six (6) consecutive months or for more than nine (9) months in any twelve (12) month period without the prior approval of City Council by special ordinance. ____________________________ Explanation: Italics indicate new matter added. ..End
