..Title Amending Title 14 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Zoning and Planning," by amending Chapter 14-1600, entitled "Miscellaneous," by adding a new Section prohibiting or regulating the conducting of licensed gambling operations within certain or all zoning districts of the City, all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Title 14 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows: TITLE 14. ZONING AND PLANNING. * * * CHAPTER 14-1600. MISCELLANEOUS. * * * §14-1627. Gambling Establishments. (1) The conducting of licensed gambling operations, other than those licensed under the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act (10 P.S. §311 et seq.), shall not be a permitted use in any zoning district within the City, unless such use is expressly permitted by ordinance. (2) No variance shall be granted from this Section except where the denial of a variance would effect an unconstitutional taking. (3) The provisions of this Section shall expire three years after the date this Section became law. ____________________________ Explanation: Italics indicate new matter added. ..End 2
