..Title Commending and recognizing the Employees of the Food Services Division of the Philadelphia School District. ..Body WHEREAS, The approximately 2200 workers employed by the School District in the Food Services Division are charged with the responsibility of providing food services to the approximately 200,000 students who attend District Schools; and WHEREAS, The operation and services of the Food Services Division of the School District is critical to the health, nutritional balance and well-being of the students who utilize the food services of the district; and WHEREAS, The Food Service Employees are dedicated to the students and perform many functions and duties in the best interest of the students without benefit of additional compensation; and WHEREAS, The workers are among the lowest paid employees of the School District of Philadelphia and receive the lowest level of medical benefits, dental, optical and prescription services provided by the District; and WHEREAS, All employees of the Food Service Division are the true soldiers on the front line in the care and nurturing of the students; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the employees of the Food Service Division are hereby honored for their noble dedication to the students of the Philadelphia School District and commended for their commitment to the young citizens of the city. ..End
