..Title Honoring Adam Cubbage. ..Body WHEREAS, Adam Cubbage was born in Philadelphia on June 16, 1976; and WHEREAS, Adam graduated from St. Martin of Tours grade school in 1990; and WHEREAS, After grade school, Adam attended George Washington High School where he was elected President of the class of 1994; and WHEREAS, Adam later attended Pennsylvania State University where he joined the ROTC and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation in 1998; and WHEREAS, Once in the Army, Adam was recruited by the 82nd Airborne and sent to Fort Bragg, NC where he was promoted to First Lieutenant and Captain while with the unit; and WHEREAS, After being promoted to Captain, Adam was transferred to the 173rd Airborne European Strike Force; and WHEREAS, On March 26, 2003, the anniversary of the creation of the 173rd, the unit parachuted into Northern Iraq; and WHEREAS, During his time in Iraq, Adam has been awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Parachutist Badge; and WHEREAS, Adam is the adopted soldier of the Our Lady of Grace School in Bucks County; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor Adam Cubbage for his meritorious service to the United States; and FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Adam Cubbage as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body and his hometown. ..End
