..Title Honoring the One Hundredth Anniversary of the founding of the Historical Society of Frankford. ..Body WHEREAS, The community of Frankford in the lower northeast section of Philadelphia is one of the oldest and most historic communities in Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, The Historical Society of Frankford was founded in 1905 to collect, preserve, and present the history of Frankford and Northeast Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, The Historical Society of Frankford is the repository of extraordinary museum and library collections that document this history; and WHEREAS, The Historical Society of Frankford has for one hundred years preserved and made these collections available and presented programs that explore the region's history; now therefore RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of the Historical Society of Frankford in preserving and making available the history of Frankford and Northeast Philadelphia and joins the Society in celebrating its one hundredth anniversary. ..End
