..Title Recognizing, Honoring, and Celebrating Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company - For It's Mission of transforming the lives of young people, mostly from the largely African-American Community of Lower Germantown of Philadelphia through the Arts. ..Body WHEREAS, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company has been developing and nurturing young actors for sixteen years; and WHEREAS, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company has been acclaimed throughout the Greater Philadelphia area both for the excellence and quality of its product and the unique power of its mission; and WHEREAS, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company has given hundreds of shows with its youth performers at theaters, schools, colleges, and social agencies and has a positive impact on thousands of children and teenagers in the City of Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company has two programs: the Fresh Visions' Youth Troupe for beginners/intermediate level students and the Fresh Visions' Players for more advanced professional level students; and WHEREAS, Experience has shown that Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company members develop greater confidence, learn cooperative working skills, and attain better academic performance; and WHEREAS, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company weds a strong and powerful social mission to a strong and powerful artistic standard, thus transforming their students and the communities in which they live; and WHEREAS, Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company offers lasting benefits and the moments of here-and-now satisfaction that young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds need, giving them the chance to benefit from the transforming experience of collaborative, disciplined, creative activity; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That City Council Hereby Recognize, Honor, And Celebrate Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company - For It's Mission of transforming the lives of young people, mostly from the largely African-American Community of Lower Germantown of Philadelphia through the Arts. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Bruce Robinson - Director of Fresh Visions Youth Theatre Company, further evidencing the sincere admiration and gratitude of this legislative body. ..End
