..Title Authorizing the Council President to appoint Fred Barnett to serve on the Board of Directors of Wireless Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, Under the Bylaws of Wireless Philadelphia, three Directors of Wireless Philadelphia are appointed by the Council President to four year terms, with the initial three such appointed Directors appointed to terms ending December 31, 2007, December 31, 2008, and December 31, 2009; and WHEREAS, As authorized by Resolution, the Council President has made the initial appointments to the Board of Directors of Wireless Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, The Director appointed to the term ending December 31, 2007 is leaving the Board, thereby creating a vacancy; and WHEREAS, Paragraph II(13) of the Rules of Council provides that the Council President may make appointments to boards, commissions, advisory committees and authorities pursuant to any appointment power conferred upon the President by law or otherwise, with the approval of the Council by resolution; now, therefore, RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, THAT The Council President is hereby authorized to appoint Fred Barnett to serve on the Board of Directors of Wireless Philadelphia to fill the vacancy in the term ending December 31, 2007. RESOLVED FURTHER THAT The Council President is further authorized to reappoint Fred Barnett to serve on the Board of Directors of Wireless Philadelphia for an additional four year term ending December 31, 2011. ..End
