..Title Calling upon the School District of Philadelphia to provide adequate support personnel to children who are disabled to allow these children to participate fully in after school programs, if it is determined to be necessary from the Individualized Educational Program (IEP) Assessment. ..Body WHEREAS, There are a number of school children in the City of Philadelphia who have disabilities; and WHEREAS, It is hard for children with disabilities to participate in after school programs because of the lack of appropriate support personnel; and WHEREAS, In failing to provide adequate support personnel to disabled children, the School District is not allowing for the full participation of children with disabilities; and WHEREAS, It is appropriate for the School District to provide adequate support personnel to assist children in after school activities; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the Council calls upon the School District of Philadelphia to provide adequate support personnel to children who are disabled to allow these children to participate fully in after school programs. ..End
