..Title Calling on the Office of Labor Standards, or any other office designated by the Office of the Mayor, to convene the Living Wage Advisory Committee pursuant to §17-1311 of The Philadelphia Code, to review the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of The Philadelphia Code entitled, "Philadelphia 21st Century Minimum Wage Standard," and to make recommendations to City Council before June 30, 2008. ..Body WHEREAS, The City Council established a nine (9) person committee entitled the "Living Wage Advisory Committee," the purpose of which was to meet at least quarterly with all meetings open to the public, to review the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of The Philadelphia Code and to make recommendations to the City Council regarding this Chapter; and WHEREAS, The United States Congress has raised the federal minimum wage which automatically increases the local minimum wage standard for covered employees in July 2009; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That Council calls on the Office of Labor Standards, or any other office designated by the Office of the Mayor, to convene the Living Wage Advisory Committee pursuant to §17-1311 of The Philadelphia Code, the purpose of which shall be to review the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of The Philadelphia Code entitled, "Philadelphia 21st Century Minimum Wage Standard"; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Living Wage Advisory Committee make recommendations to the City Council regarding the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of The Philadelphia Code before June 30, 2008. ..End
