..Title Authorizing the Free Library of Philadelphia, on behalf of the City of Philadelphia to accept a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education for renovations to the Central Library Branch of the Free Library at 1901 Vine Street, pursuant to terms and conditions established by the Commonwealth. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The Free Library of Philadelphia on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized to accept a Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund grant ("Commonwealth Grant") in the amount of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00) from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries for renovations to the public elevators in the Central Library Branch of the Free Library at 1901 Vine Street. SECTION 2. The Free Library of Philadelphia on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, is further authorized to accept the terms and conditions of the Commonwealth Grant including, but not limited to a condition that the Central Library Branch of the Free Library remain open as a public library for the life of the improvements funded with the Commonwealth Grant. SECTION 3. The City Solicitor is hereby authorized to review and to approve the Commonwealth Grant agreement and any other documents necessary to effectuate this Ordinance, which instruments and documents shall contain such terms and conditions as the City Solicitor shall deem necessary and proper to protect the interest of the City and to carry out the purposes of this Ordinance. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately. ..End
