..Title Thanking The Members Of The Pennsylvania General Assembly Who Supported House Bill 2525 Which Will Dramatically Improve Conditions For Dogs Kept In Pennsylvania Commercial Kennels & Urging The Pennsylvania State Senate To Promptly Pass This Bill In Its Current Form. ..Body WHEREAS, House Bill 2525 aims to make sweeping improvements in commercial kennels throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2525 will make it illegal for anyone but a veterinarian to euthanize a dog in a commercial kennel housing 60 or more dogs a year; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2525 was authored by State Representative James Casorio and has been passionately supported by Governor Edward G. Rendell; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2525 will set new standards in commercial kennels for lighting, exercise, ventilation, air temperature, and euthanasia; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2525 will increase cage sizes, ban wire cage flooring, and eliminate cage stacking in commercial kennels throughout the Commonwealth; and WHEREAS, House Bill 2525 will mandate commercial kennels to provide outside exercise and require annual veterinary exams at the kennels; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby Thanks The Members Of The Pennsylvania General Assembly Who Supported House Bill 2525 Which Will Dramatically Improve Conditions For Dogs Kept In Pennsylvania Commercial Kennels & Urges The Pennsylvania State Senate To Promptly Pass This Bill In Its Current Form. ..End
