..Title Proclaiming September 22nd as The Greater Philadelphia Community Action Network Business to Business Expo Day in the City of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, Job creation is of vital interest to the City of Philadelphia and to the State of Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and its 5,000 members represent small and large businesses alike; and WHEREAS, Minority business development is a priority for the Minority Supplier Development Corporation of PA-NJ-DE; and WHEREAS, The Walmart Corporation has dedicated itself to the development of local small and minority businesses; and WHEREAS, Walmart operates four stores and one Sam's Club in the City of Philadelphia, and works with more than 2,400 suppliers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, supporting over 151,000 supplier jobs; and WHEREAS, Walmart Stores, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the Minority Supplier Development Council of PA-NJ-DE have partnered to provide local business owners and entrepreneurs the opportunity to certify, develop and grow their operations; and WHEREAS, The Business to Business Expo promotes building local small and minority business enterprises thereby significantly contributing to the growth of Philadelphia's economy; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That September 22nd be proclaimed The Greater Philadelphia Community Action Network Business to Business Expo Day in the City of Philadelphia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the Greater Philadelphia Community Action Network. ..End
