..Title Recognizing, Honoring, And Celebrating Patricia Redmond - As Presbyterian Children Village's Employee of the Year, for the Last Four Years and Her Dedication and Commitment to Community Service. ..Body WHEREAS, Patricia Redmond "PAT", is a true example of how someone can totally turn their life around; and WHEREAS, PAT came from Baltimore Md., to Philadelphia because of a drug addiction where she was admitted into an in-patient treatment with Recovery Kings Drug and Treatment Facilities and since then has been clean for 11yrs; and WHEREAS, PAT has been a Counselor at Presbyterian Children Village for seven years and is responsible for children from 10 to 17 years of age in the Resident Treatment Facility; and WHEREAS, In 2005, Mayor Street presented PAT with the "Mayor's drug and alcohol executive commission make a difference award;" and WHEREAS, PAT is the representative for the Safe Corridors in the 8th district and is heavily involved in the 35th and 39th police district; and WHEREAS, PAT supports the police department as communication liaison between the police, parents and juvenile offenders and is always around helping when a tragedy strikes; and WHEREAS, During times of tragedy, especially when tragedy strikes an officer, PAT may be found in the police department handing out food or starting vigils and raising money and moral for victims and their families; and WHEREAS, PAT is the Founder of the "Heart of Philly," a liaison between the motor cycle community and the police departments, where she has dedicate a great deal of time working as a liaison for the motorcycle community; and WHEREAS, PAT has proven that change is possible and she shows that a person can go from needing a hand to giving a hand. RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That City Council Hereby Recognize, Honor, And Celebrate Patricia Redmond - As Presbyterian Children Village's Employee of the Year, for the Last Four Years and Her Dedication and Commitment to Community Service. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Patricia Redmond as further evidencing the sincere admiration and gratitude of this legislative body. ..End
