..Title Congratulating the New Orleans Saints on winning the 2010 Super Bowl. ..Body WHEREAS, The New Orleans Saints coached by Sean Payton and led by quarterback Drew Brees defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in a thrilling finale to an exciting 2010 NFL season; and WHEREAS, The Saints were trailing early in the game by 10 points answered back and overcame the deficit with a dangerous onside kick that led to a Saints touchdown that turned the tide of the game; and WHEREAS, In Super Bowl XLIV the Saints, who were considered the underdogs, mounted one of the largest comebacks in Super Bowl history; and WHEREAS, Quarterback Drew Brees completed a record 32 completions and with the help of his defense, which rose to the occasion with a game ending interception by Tracy Porter that led to a touchdown, sealed their Super Bowl victory; and WHEREAS, With New Orleans still recovering from the devastating effects left by Hurricane Katrina, the Saints first Super Bowl win will lift the hopes and spirits of the citizens of this battered city; and WHEREAS, The Saints have been a driving force in the City of New Orleans during the past four years and continue to help unite the people and turn New Orleans back into the thriving city it once was; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate the New Orleans Saints on winning the 2010 Super Bowl. ..End
