..Title Recognizing, Honoring and Celebrating Philadelphia University's Men's Basketball Coach Herb Magee for his 902nd career coaching win. ..Body WHEREAS, Following Saturday's win against Connecticut's Post University, Philadelphia University's Division II Basketball Coach Herb Magee notched his 902nd career coaching win, tying with that of Indiana University's Bobby Knight, who has held the record since the early 1980s; and WHEREAS, Coach Magee is on the verge of surpassing Bobby Knight's NCAA record of 902 career wins, with the victory of tonight's game against Delaware's Goldey-Beacom College; and WHEREAS, Coach Magee's commitment is apparent through his longevity of dedication, first as a student of Philadelphia University in 1959, and then 50 years later, as the victorious coach of the Men's Basketball Team; now therefore RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby recognizes, honors, and celebrates Philadelphia University's Men's Basketball Coach Herb Magee for his 902nd career coaching win. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Herb Magee as evidence of the sincere admiration of this legislative body. ..End
