..Title Amending Chapter 10-400 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Noise and Excessive Vibration," by providing for certain exceptions, including, but not limited to, sounds created by school bells, church bells, and similar devices; all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Chapter 10-400 of The Philadelphia Code is amended as follows: CHAPTER 10-400. NOISE AND EXCESSIVE VIBRATION. * * * (12) Exemptions. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to [aircraft, airport and railroad operations and licensed fireworks displays] the following: (a) Aircraft; (b) Airport and railroad operations; (c) Licensed fireworks displays; (d) Sounds lasting no more than 5 minutes in any one hour created by bells, chimes, carillons, or the human voice, or by electronic or mechanical devices that reproduce such sounds, while used in connection with a religious institution; (e) Sounds created by school bells or chimes or by electronic or mechanical devices when used by schools to reproduce such sounds; and (f) Sounds lasting no more than 5 minutes in any one hour created by a clock or bell tower to mark time through the use of bells or chimes or electronic or mechanical devices that reproduce such sounds. * * * ____________________________ Explanation: [Brackets] indicate matter deleted.
