..Title Honoring Philadelphia's Own Professional Prize Fighter Yusaf Mack for Winning the North American Boxing Association (NABA) and North American Boxing Federation (NABF) Light Heavyweight Titles and Recognizing October 2, 2010 as Yusaf Mack Day in the City of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, Yusaf Mack was born in Philadelphia and now fights out of New York City as a professional prize fighter; and WHEREAS, Mack has been fighting as a professional for a decade and presently fights as a Light Heavyweight, holding the NABA and NABF Light Heavyweight Titles with a record of 28 wins and 3 losses; and WHEREAS, Mack is a role model for neighborhood kids and devotes his time to encouraging them to stay in school and to reject unhealthy and destructive behavior; and WHEREAS, On Saturday October 2, 2010, Powahouse Entertainment Group with the Men of Millcreek will be celebrating the First Annual Yusaf Mack Day at the Millcreek Playground located at 48th and Brown Streets; and WHEREAS, Mack's success as a prize fighter and his community involvement are an inspiration and positive influence to the youth of Millcreek and beyond; and WHEREAS, our youth are in need of positive role models with whom they can identify as being from their neighborhoods; now therefore, be it, RESOLVED, THAT THE PHILADELPHIA CITY COUNCIL, Honors Philadelphia's Own Professional Prize Fighter Yusaf Mack for Winning the North American Boxing Association and North American Boxing Federation Light Heavyweight Titles and Recognizing October 2, 2010, as Yusaf Mack Day in the City of Philadelphia; and FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be Presented as a Sincere Expression of City Council's Appreciation and Recognition of Yusaf Mack Day. ..End
