..Title Recognizing The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia on its opening of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. ..Body WHEREAS, The Salvation Army Kroc Center will provide programs true to its approach of "ministering to the whole person"; and WHEREAS, These programs will address the educational, health, economic, recreational and spiritual needs of the communities it serves; and WHEREAS, The Salvation Army Kroc Center features an early childhood education center; indoor aquatics center; after school education center with literacy, math and science emphasis; music and dance studios; a spinning room and state-of-the-art two-story fitness center; worship and performing arts center; family resources center and more; and WHEREAS, The Salvation Army Kroc Center will have an organic garden providing healthy produce and opportunities for horticultural education and training next spring; and WHEREAS, The Salvation Army Kroc Center will serve at least 1,000 people per day; and WHEREAS, The center will provide these programs in an inclusive manner, without regard to background or ability to pay; now therefore RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby recognizes The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia on its opening of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia's Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body. ..End
