..Title Authorizing the revision of lines and grades on a portion of City Plan No. 204 by striking from the City Plan and vacating Slocum Street from a point approximately one-hundred forty feet northeast of Chew Avenue to its terminus northeastwardly therefrom and by relocating a portion of the northwesterly curbline of Slocum Street, from Chew Avenue to a point approximately seventy-seven feet northeastwardly therefrom, eight feet southeastwardly and incorporating the vacated area of said Slocum Street under the jurisdiction of the Department of Parks and Recreation. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 11-403 and 11-404 of The Philadelphia Code, the Board of Surveyors of the Department of Streets is hereby authorized to revise the lines and grades on a portion of City Plan No. 204 by: (a) Striking from the City Plan and vacating Slocum Street from a point approximately one-hundred forty feet northeast of Chew Avenue to its terminus approximately sixty-five feet northeastwardly therefrom. (b) Relocating a portion of the northwesterly curbline of Slocum Street, from Chew Avenue to a point approximately seventy-seven feet northeastwardly therefrom, eight feet southeastwardly, thereby reducing the cartway width of said Slocum Street from thirty feet to twenty-two feet. SECTION 2. Effective upon confirmation of the striking and vacating of a portion of Slocum Street, as authorized in Section 1(a) herein, the said vacated area, owned by the City of Philadelphia, is deemed incorporated into the Pleasant Playground and Recreation Center under the jurisdiction of the Department of Parks and Recreation. SECTION 3. The provisions of The Philadelphia Code, Section 14-2104(3)(g), relating to dead end streets, shall not apply to Slocum Street as affected by this Ordinance. ..End
