..Title Recognizing the Morris Estate Advisory Council for its efforts at the Morris Estate Recreation Center. ..Body WHEREAS, Morris Estate is a Philadelphia Recreation Center that sits on 6.4 acres of land in the 8th Councilmanic District; and WHEREAS, Morris Estate is a large facility that has a ballfield, pool, sports field, tennis court and two basketball courts; and WHEREAS, The facility hosts many programs, including after school programs, day camps, Zumba, kickball, martial arts and Kids Fun Night, among others; and WHEREAS, The Morris Estate Advisory Council has made significant contributions to the facility, including in the areas of maintenance, programming and fundraising; and WHEREAS, The Advisory Council has helped recruit and organize volunteers for each of these contributions; now therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby recognizes the Morris Estate Advisory Council for its efforts at the Morris Estate Recreation Center. ..End
