..Title Honoring and Congratulating James Lafferty for being one of the youngest - if not the youngest - officials elected to Sharon Hill Borough Council in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. ..Body WHEREAS, James Lafferty is a senior at Temple University with a double major in economics and political science; and WHEREAS, James Lafferty has demonstrated commitment to his community from a young age through volunteer activities; and WHEREAS, James Lafferty is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and Delaware County Community College Student Government Association; and WHEREAS, Upon graduation from Temple University, James Lafferty aspires to attend law school and work as a prosecutor for the City of Philadelphia or for the federal government; and WHEREAS, this past November James Lafferty was elected to Sharon Hill Borough Council at the age of 23; and WHEREAS, James Lafferty is an example to our youth that they are never too young to become involved in community and in government; and WHEREAS, We are proud of James' accomplishments, wish him the best in his service to Sharon Hill Borough, and welcome him as a colleague and a peer; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and congratulate James Lafferty upon his election to Sharon Hill Borough Council while completing his undergraduate studies at Temple University. We wish him success in his studies and his service, and extend the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to James Lafferty, further evidencing the sincere sentiments of this legislative body. ..End
