..Title Honoring the Community Design Collaborative on the 25th Anniversary of its founding. ..Body WHEREAS, The Community Design Collaborative ("Collaborative") and its volunteers strengthen neighborhoods through design, from storefronts to schoolyards, from streetscapes to neighborhood parks, from community centers to affordable housing; and WHEREAS, The Collaborative provides pro bono preliminary design services for community-based organizations throughout Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, The Collaborative has delivered more than 700 community-engaged design grants, bolstering the civic, neighborhood, and faith-based organizations that are so vital to our economic and social well-being; and WHEREAS, The Collaborative represents a unique public-private partnership that invests in community solutions and leverages resources to strengthen community impact and increase the return on taxpayer dollars; and WHEREAS, The Collaborative volunteers demonstrate commitment and dedication by making a commitment to strengthen neighborhoods through skill-based service; and WHEREAS, The Collaborative promotes good design as good business by expanding economic opportunity and creating more sustainable, resilient communities; and WHEREAS, The Collaborative and the City of Philadelphia's leadership share common priorities to engage citizens, improve lives, and strengthen communities; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That Council does honor the Community Design Collaborative on the 25th Anniversary of its founding. RESOLVED FURTHER, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the Community Design Collaborative, evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body. ..End
