..Title Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Designation of Bicycle Lanes," by authorizing the Department of Streets to designate a bicycle lane, in the southbound direction, on 15th Street between Carpenter Street and Washington Avenue; and also regulating the direction of the movement of traffic on 15th Street between Carpenter Street and Washington Avenue, and establishing no-parking regulations on both sides of 15th Street from Carpenter Street to Washington Avenue, all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows: § 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes. * * * (2) The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations: * * * (d) Fifteenth Street, southbound, from Carpenter Street to Washington Avenue, a five (5)-foot wide bicycle lane, and the removal of a parking lane and partial travel lane in the same portion of Fifteenth Street. * * * SECTION 2. The following two-way regulation is hereby established: 15th Street, from Carpenter Street to Washington Avenue, with the northbound lane being ten (10) feet wide, the southbound lane being eleven (11) feet wide, and a five (5)-foot wide bicycle lane in the southbound direction as authorized in Section 1 hereof. SECTION 3. The following no-parking regulation is hereby established: NO PARKING ANYTIME Both sides of 15th Street from Carpenter Street to Washington Avenue. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately. Explanation: Matter added to the Code shown in italics. ..End
