..Title Amending Chapter 12-700 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Bicycle Lanes," by requiring authorization to make modifications to existing bicycle lanes, all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Chapter 12-700 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 12-700. BICYCLE LANES. § 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes. (1) A bicycle lane that requires the removal of a parking lane, a travel lane, or both, or any modification to an existing bicycle lane that would affect the flow of traffic, may be designated upon a street only when authorized by subsection (2) of this Section. (2) The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations: SECTION 2.
