..Title Also Naming the 2900 Block of Holme Avenue in honor of Police Officer Timothy Simpson. ..Body WHEREAS, Timothy Simpson was appointed to the Philadelphia Police Department on November 14, 1988; and WHEREAS, Prior to serving with the Police Department Officer Simpson served with the United States Army Military Police Corps.; and WHEREAS, On October 17, 2011 at approximately 10:30pm Sergeant Simpson responded to a robbery call when his patrol car was involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Allegheny and Aramingo Avenues; and WHEREAS, After it was determined that the driver of the other vehicle was intoxicated he was taken into custody and pled guilty to the fatal accident; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Simpson's end of watch date was October 17, 2011 at the age of 46; and WHEREAS, He served the 24th Police District of Philadelphia for 20 years; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Simpson is survived by his wife and three children; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That we honor the life and service of this dedicated public servant by also naming the 2900 block of Holme Avenue in honor of Police Officer Timothy Simpson. ..End Bobby Henon June 21, 2018
