Title 9 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows: TITLE 9. REGULATION OF BUSINESSES, TRADES AND PROFESSIONS * * * CHAPTER 9-600. SERVICE AND OTHER BUSINESSES * * * § 9-637. Public Utilities - Meter Installations. (1) For purposes of this Section 9-637, a "public utility" means any provider to the public of gas, electric or water service. (2) No public utility shall install a meter at any residential premises, for purposes of monitoring usage, without first: (a) Confirming with the Department that the premises are properly licensed and properly zoned for the residential use, including multi-family use. Absent such confirmation, the public utility shall not perform the installation. (b) Notifying the Department of the location of the installation.
