..Title Proposing an amendment to The Philadelphia Home Rule Charter providing for a preference in civil service examinations for any qualified graduate of a Career Technical Education program in the School District of Philadelphia; and providing for the submission of the amendment to the electors of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, Under Section 6 of the First Class City Home Rule Act (53 P.S. � 13106), an amendment to The Philadelphia Home Rule Charter may be proposed by a resolution of the Council of the City of Philadelphia adopted with the concurrence of two-thirds of its elected members; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the following amendment to The Philadelphia Home Rule Charter is hereby proposed and shall be submitted to the electors of the City on an election date designated by ordinance: ARTICLE VII EXECUTIVE AND ADMINISTRATIVE BRANCH * * * CHAPTER 4 CIVIL SERVICE: REGULATIONS * * * � 7-401. Contents. The regulations shall provide for: * * * (d) The granting, as may from time to time be required by statute or ordinance, of preference in entrance examinations to qualified persons who have been members of the armed forces of the United States, [and] to the children and grandchildren of Philadelphia firefighters or police officers who were killed or who died in the line of duty, and to qualified graduates of Career Technical Education programs in the School District of Philadelphia; * * * ___________________________________ Explanation: [Brackets] indicate matter deleted.
