..Title Amending Chapter 22-800, entitled "Purchase of Credited Service," of Title 22 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Public Employees Retirement Code," to allow certain employees to purchase credited service for prior military service without the payment of certain interest for a certain time period, and to make technical amendments; all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Title 22 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Public Employees Retirement Code," is hereby amended as follows: TITLE 22. PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT CODE. * * * CHAPTER 22-800. PURCHASE OF CREDITED SERVICE * * * � 22-802. Purchase of Governmental Service. * * * (5) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections (2) and (3) above and Section 22-807 concerning the payment of interest, no employee of the Philadelphia Fire Department who submits an application for the purchase of prior military service pursuant to Section 22-802(1)(a) above and meets the following requirements shall be responsible for the payment of interest on such purchase, other than pursuant to Section 22-806 (Installment Payments), if such application is submitted within one (1) year of the effective date of the ordinance adding this subsection (5): (a) The employee is an employee of the Philadelphia Fire Department and an active member of any plan of this Retirement System on both the effective date of the ordinance adding this subsection (5) and the date the employee submits the application pursuant to Section 22-802(1)(a); (b) The employee has not elected to enter the DROP at any point before the submission of the application pursuant to paragraph 22-802(1)(a); and (c) The purchase of service is otherwise permitted under this Section 22-802. [(5)] (6) Installment and transfer payments. Payment for the purchase of governmental service may be made in accordance with Section 22-806 (Installment Payments) or Section 22-808 (Transfer Payments) of this Title, or any combination thereof. * * * SECTION 2.
