..Title Honoring and congratulating the Central High School Softball team, on their successful 2019 season and overall 10-1 record in the Philadelphia Public League. ..Body WHEREAS, The Central High School Softball team is led by Central High School's Softball head coach and Lead School Counselor Christine Soda; and WHEREAS, The Central Lancers stood 1st overall in the Philadelphia Public League Independence Conference, 10th in the Pennsylvania Division AAAAAA, and 34th overall in Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, The Central High School finished their conference games league games with a 10-1 record. The team outscored its opponents with a combined 144 runs that included 3 shutouts; and WHEREAS, The Central High School's mission statement is, "building upon the diversity in our school, we aim to prepare students to contribute and thrive in a heterogeneous world. We will enable students to develop problem-solving skills, a lifelong passion for learning, and aspirations to be thoughtful leaders of their generation"; and WHEREAS, Central High School's demonstrates their commitment to education with a graduation rate that falls in the top 5% in Pennsylvania with a 97% graduation rate and a ranks 2nd overall in Philadelphia Public High Schools; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the Central High School Lancers Softball team on their 2019 Philadelphia Public League championship win. ..End
