..Title Honoring and congratulating Diana C. Medley on the occasion of her retirement following 25 years of relentless dedication and service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ..Body WHEREAS, Diana C. Medley began her career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1996 at the Department of Public Welfare as an Income Maintenance Caseworker at the Chester County Assistance Office, where she served public assistance recipients in identifying and removing barriers to financial security and self-sufficiency; and WHEREAS, In 1998, Ms. Medley accepted a position as a Human Relations Representative I with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission at the Philadelphia Regional Office. As a Human Relations Representative I, she investigated and conciliated complaints of discrimination in employment education and public accommodation. Ms. Medley swiftly rose through the ranks as she was promoted to Human Relations Representative II and III in 1999 and 2006, respectively; and WHEREAS, Ms. Medley became the Acting Regional Director of the Philadelphia Regional Office in 2016. A year later, she was promoted to the position permanently when she became the Regional Director of the Philadelphia Regional Office. In her role as Regional Director, Ms. Medley directed, motivated, trained, and mentored a professional staff of Human Relations Representatives and clerical personnel; and WHEREAS, Ms. Medley has Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Chester University and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Widener University. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Development Institute for Women in State Government and is an active member of various local civic and community service organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area, for several of which she holds leadership roles. In her spare time, Ms. Medley enjoys baking, reading, and going on long walks with her husband and their dog, Scotty; and WHEREAS, On January 2, 2021, Ms. Medley retired from the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. Ms. Medley's 25 years of service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and her tremendous contributions to the City of Philadelphia and its citizens precedes her on the occasion of her retirement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby honors and congratulates Diana C. Medley on the occasion of her retirement following 25 years of unwavering service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and its citizens. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Diana C. Medley as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body. ..End
