..Title Honoring and recognizing Theresa Alicea on the occasion of her retirement following 25 years of loyal and dedicated service to the residents of the 175th legislative district. ..Body WHEREAS, Theresa, a lifelong resident of Fishtown, is known as the go-to person who never turned anyone away, no matter the ask. Besides helping with rent rebate forms, EBT forms and more, she would also bring food and spend time with home bound seniors; and WHEREAS, Theresa was a former committee person who became ward leader of the 18th Ward Democratic Executive Committee in the May 2018 election. She was a true and loyal civil service worker who always put others before her own needs; and WHEREAS, Theresa's tireless contributions to her community was steadfast. She provided years of dedicated and selfless service on the grassroots level, always providing assistance. Her passion for community empowerment did not stop at getting voters to the polls, but also keeping them informed; and WHEREAS, Teresa was a dedicated employee and well respected by her colleagues. Her spirit and enthusiasm have been a permanent and positive influence and she is held in high esteem by all. She performed her duties with competence, attentiveness, and always in a kind and pleasant manner; and WHEREAS, Her colleagues, as well as those whose lives she impacted, will miss her presence. She is fortunate to be able to see the results of her dedication and, in the process, benefit from the earned respect of your peers; and WHEREAS, After 25 illustrious years, Theresa officially retired from her position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on April 15, 2021. We join with, family and friends of Theresa in paying tribute to her during her retirement. We wish her well in any future endeavors and hope her retirement is filled with happiness, good health and the joys of family and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and recognize Theresa Alicea for 25 years of outstanding service and for her contributions to our city and state. May her transition into retirement be as promising, rewarding and enjoyable as she envisions. We thank her for all she has done and extend to her the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body. ..End
