..Title Renaming and designating the property commonly referred to as the 11th and Venango Playground, located at 3600 North 11th Street, as the "Williams Moore Reed Memorial Park" in the City of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, A tragic accident occurred at the corner of Allegheny and Germantown Avenues on July 25, 2014; and WHEREAS, This terrible tragedy resulted in the deaths of Keisha Williams and three of her children; Keiearra Williams, who at age 15 was getting ready to begin high school, Joseph Reed Jr., a 10 year old who loved his X Box, wrestling shows and riding his bike and 7 year old Terrance Williams Moore, who loved playing basketball and watching wrestling shows with his older brother; and WHEREAS, The children, along with their mother, were selling fruit at a stand to raise money for their local church so that a playground could be built when a carjacked vehicle struck them; and WHEREAS, Ms. Williams and her three children are survived by her other daughters, Charmaine Williams and Aeisha Williams and her sisters, Rochelle Blackson and Sharmaine Williams. The children are survived by their fathers, Joseph Reed and Terrance Moore; and WHEREAS, A joint contribution was made by the families and their attorneys, Morris Wilson Knepp Jacquette P.C. in memory of the decedents so that Keisha Williams and her children's' dream of a new playground for the neighborhood, to be located at 11th and Venango Streets, could be realized; and WHEREAS, The Williams, Moore and Reed families are honored and grateful that the City of Philadelphia will memorialize their loved ones with the renaming of the playground at 11th and Venango Streets in a space that neighborhood children and adults will be able to enjoy for years to come; now therefore THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The 11th and Venango Playground is hereby renamed and dedicated as the "Williams Moore Reed Memorial Park". SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately. ..End
