..Title Honoring and congratulating Champions of the Week, Neumann-Goretti High School's Girls Basketball team, on their successful 2021-2 season and winning the 2022 PIAA Girls' Basketball 3A Championship title. ..Body WHEREAS, Neumann-Goretti's Girls Basketball team secured their win on April 26 against Freedom Area's Girls Basketball team, the Bulldogs; and WHEREAS, Neumann-Goretti's Saints won by six points, with a score of 55 to 49; and WHEREAS, The game started off with Freedom in the lead and it was not until the third quarter of the game that the Saints were able to turn the game around in their favor; and WHEREAS, The team was led to success by Coach Andrea Peterson, who took over as coach in 2014 and has been pushing the team to its fullest potential since taking on the role; and WHEREAS, With Coach Peterson's help, the team went on to win their fifth 3A state championship title after winning four years consecutively in 2015-2018; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor Neumann-Goretti High School's Girls Basketball team on their successful 2022 season and winning the 2022 PIAA 3A Championship. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy be presented to Neumann-Goretti's Girls Basketball Team, further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body. ..End
