..Title Amending Chapter 11-700 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Right-of-Way Management," by authorizing the Department of Streets to install traffic calming measures in the vicinity of School District schools, Charter schools, and private schools; all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Chapter 11-700 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows: * * * CHAPTER 11-700. RIGHT-OF-WAY MANAGEMENT. * * * � 11-708. Traffic Calming Measures For Schools. (1) Legislative Intent. It is the purpose of this legislation to prevent school-aged pedestrians from being struck by vehicles while walking to schools in the City of Philadelphia. (2) Required Traffic Calming Measures. The Department, in consultation with the School District, is authorized to install traffic calming measures on streets in the vicinity of School District schools, including Charter Schools, and private schools as designated by the Department. Such traffic calming measures shall include, but not be limited to, speed cushions, speed tables, soft rumble strips, and other measures the Department deems to be necessary. * * * SECTION 2.
