..Title Recognizing the 10th Graders at Hill-Freedman World Academy for being featured in the HBO Documentary "Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School." ..Body WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia is pleased and proud to support and celebrate the artistic and creative endeavors of young Philadelphians; and WHEREAS, Students at Hill-Freedman World Academy have demonstrated an impressive penchant and talent for songwriting and musicianship. The music they have written and produced beautifully portrays their nuanced experiences as Philadelphia youths; and WHEREAS, Their laudable musical undertaking is featured in the HBO documentary "Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School." The documentary underscores the importance of their artistic expression and highlights their awe-inspiring musical creations; and WHEREAS, The students' immense success so early in their musical careers demonstrates the importance of adequately funding artistic outlets for students in and out of academic settings; and WHEREAS, In all that the students of Hill-Freedman World Academy have done, they have furthered the progress of our City. Philadelphians who, through dedication and excellence, contribute in a meaningful way to the well-being of their communities through music, art, and film are integral to the functioning, wholesomeness, and vibrance of our City. As such, the students of Hill-Freedman World Academy are much appreciated; and WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Philadelphia does hereby extend its sincere gratitude to the students of Hill-Freedman World Academy for their extraordinary contribution to our community. We wish them success in the days ahead and extend the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body; therefore be it RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Recognizes the 10th Graders at Hill-Freedman World Academy for being featured in the HBO Documentary "Stand Up & Shout: Songs From a Philly High School." FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy be presented to the students of Hill-Freedman World Academy further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body. ..End
