..Title Honoring and congratulating Marcus Morris on his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, his hometown team. ..Body WHEREAS, Morris, Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington and Kenyon Martin were acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 in a three team deal that sent James Harden, P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev to the Los Angeles Clippers; and WHEREAS, Over the past three seasons with the Clippers, Morris averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 27.8 minutes per game. Previously, he has played for the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, and the New York Knicks; and WHEREAS, Morris was born in Philadelphia, PA, in late 1989. The 34 year old was raised in the City and attended Prep Charter High School. He is noted as a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan; and WHEREAS, Morris comes from a sporting family, with his twin brother also playing in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and congratulate Marcus Morris on his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, his hometown team. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an engrossed copy be presented to Marcus Morris, Sr. of the Philadelphia 76ers, further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body. ..End
