..Title Honoring Central High School for Winning the 2024 PIAA District 12 AAA Team Title for the fourth consecutive year and celebrating their impressive sweep of team, singles, and doubles championships. ..Body WHEREAS, Central High School has achieved extraordinary success in 2024 by winning the PIAA District 12 AAA Team Title for the fourth consecutive year, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the talent, dedication, and teamwork of their student-athletes and coaching staff; and WHEREAS, This year marks a historic milestone for Central High School's tennis program, as they achieved an impressive sweep of the district team, singles, and doubles titles for the fourth consecutive year, a feat never before accomplished in the program's history; and WHEREAS, On an individual level, the program celebrates the outstanding achievements of Alivia Glenn, the 2024 District Champion in Singles, and the doubles team of Lucy DeVore and Ella Pogarsky, who captured the 2024 District Championship in Doubles, continuing the program's legacy of excellence; and WHEREAS, This year's accomplishment builds upon a proud tradition, as Central High School previously won five consecutive district team titles in the mid-2010s, but the current era marks the first time the program has combined such dominance in both team and individual competitions; and WHEREAS, Central High School's continued excellence serves as a source of pride and inspiration for the Philadelphia community, demonstrating the values of hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors and congratulates Central High School for winning the 2024 PIAA District 12 AAA Team Title for the fourth consecutive year and celebrating their impressive sweep of team, singles, and doubles championships; and FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Central High School as a token of the City Council's profound admiration and appreciation for their outstanding accomplishments and their continued dedication to excellence. ..End
