..Title Honoring and Recognizing Craig Williams for his invaluable contributions to the Philadelphia Streetlight Improvement Project, championed by the Philadelphia Energy Authority, and his exemplary leadership in advancing both the economic and social well-being of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, Craig Williams, CEO of American Power Electrical Supply Co., has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication in support of the Philadelphia Energy Authority's (PEA) mission to improve the City's infrastructure and quality of life through the Philadelphia Streetlight Improvement Project (PSIP); and WHEREAS, Under Mr. Williams' leadership, American Power Electrical Supply Co. has played a critical role in the successful replacement of over 83,000 streetlights with energy-efficient LED lighting, a key milestone in the initiative to replace 130,000 streetlights across Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, The PSIP aims to reduce the City's carbon footprint by decreasing energy consumption, while providing significant economic savings to the City, estimated at over $8 million annually. This initiative aims to improve the safety and well-being of its residents, particularly in areas impacted by gun violence; and WHEREAS, The installation of these high-quality LED fixtures has proven to reduce crime in neighborhoods where the new lights have been installed, contributing to a safer and brighter Philadelphia for all its citizens; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williams' commitment to the project has not only helped meet critical environmental and economic goals but has also provided valuable employment opportunities to local youth through partnerships with organizations like YEAH Philly, helping to steer young people away from violence and towards promising futures; and WHEREAS, Craig Williams' visionary approach to business and community engagement has positioned American Power Electrical Supply Co. as a key partner in transforming the City's infrastructure while uplifting the lives of its residents, particularly those most at risk; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williams' leadership exemplifies the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and social responsibility, ensuring that the PSIP project is not only an environmental success but also a transformative force for positive change in Philadelphia; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and recognize Craig Williams for his invaluable contributions to the Philadelphia Streetlight Improvement Project, his steadfast dedication to the City's progress, and his exemplary leadership in advancing both the economic and social well-being of Philadelphia.
