..Title Recognizing September 17th, 2025, as "National Workforce Development Day" in the City of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, A strong, skilled, and adaptable workforce is essential to the economic prosperity and competitiveness of the City of Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, Workforce development programs provide critical training, education, and support services to help individuals gain the skills necessary to succeed in the modern economy; and WHEREAS, These programs enhance career pathways, reduce unemployment, and foster equitable access to opportunities for residents across all neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, National Workforce Development Day serves as an important occasion to recognize the efforts of workforce development professionals, educators, employers, and organizations that empower Philadelphia residents through training, mentorship, and employment services; and WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia is committed to supporting workforce development initiatives that strengthen the local economy, promote innovation, and improve quality of life for all its residents; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That September 17th, 2025, is hereby designated as "National Workforce Development Day" in the City of Philadelphia. FURTHER RESOLVED, The City of Philadelphia encourages all residents, businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to recognize and celebrate this day by promoting workforce development programs and opportunities throughout the City. ..End
