..Title Honoring and recognizing Matchroom Boxing & Empire Fighting Chance Boxing for their impactful partnership that expands boxing opportunities in Philadelphia and worldwide. ..Body WHEREAS, Based out of the United Kingdom, Matchroom Boxing & Empire Fighting Chance has globally engaged youth by providing accessible resources to transform their own lives, developing emphasis on self-regulation skills to manage strong emotions and behaviors, drawing from positive networks that guide young individuals into creating healthy relationships with themselves and others; and WHEREAS, This organization has shown that motivating the youth through boxing has developed a transformative experience and actively combats the rising mental health crisis; and WHEREAS, The organization's impact in 2024 highlights 83% of individuals improved their mental wellbeing through Box Therapy, 84% of parents/caregivers agreed Empire boxing positively impacted their child, and 84% said they were more confident in themselves; and WHEREAS, The success of the boxing partnership has promoted a rich culture of shared community, combatted youth violence, and developed solutions to handle trauma through athletic participation; and WHEREAS, World Title Contender Jaron "Boots" Ennis, helped lead a two-hour workout with Matchroom Boxing, bringing local families from all over South Philly to engage in powerful boxing drills and help inspire the younger generation through positive leadership, emphasizing the longstanding boxing traditions throughout Philly, and providing an outlet for children to express themselves; and WHEREAS, The strong relationship between Matchroom Boxing & Empire Fighting Chance and its dedication to the Philadelphia region continues to inspire the minds of younger generations seeking to get active and find their place within the community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors Matchroom Boxing & Empire Fighting Chance Boxing for their impactful partnership that expands boxing opportunities in Philadelphia and worldwide. FUTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to the members of Matchroom Boxing & Empire Fighting Chance Boxing as a token of sincere appreciation of this legislative body. ..End
