..Title Approving the redevelopment contract of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority for the redevelopment and urban renewal of a portion of the South Central Urban Renewal Area, identified by house number and street address as 1220-30 Kenilworth Street; and authorizing the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority to execute the redevelopment contract with Neighborhood Gardens Trust and to take such action as may be necessary to effectuate the redevelopment contract. ..Body WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (hereinafter "Redevelopment Authority") has prepared and submitted an urban renewal plan and a redevelopment proposal for the redevelopment of the South Central Urban Renewal Area (hereinafter "South Central"), which said plan and proposal were approved by Ordinance of the Council on December 14, 1971, as amended; and WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Authority has prepared a redevelopment contract for a portion of South Central, identified by house number and street address as 1220-30 Kenilworth Street (the "Property"). The area of the Property is bounded as follows: 1220-30 Kenilworth Street. All that certain lot or piece of ground situated in the 2nd Ward of the City of Philadelphia beginning at the point of intersection of the southerly side of Kenilworth Street (27 feet wide) and the westerly side of Fawn Street (16 feet wide). Thence, extending southward along the said side of Fawn Street the distance of 113 feet 2 5/8 inches to a point. Thence extending westward at right angles to the said Fawn Street the distance of 31 feet 2 inches to a point. Thence extending southward along a line parallel with the said Fawn Street the distance of 6 feet 11 inches to a point, crossing the head of a certain 2 feet 3 inches wide alley that extends eastward into the said Fawn Street, to a point on the northern side of a certain 3 feet wide alley that extends westward into Iseminger Street (14 feet wide). Thence extending westward along said side of said 3 feet wide alley 48 feet 3 inches to a point. Thence extending northward on a line parallel with the said Fawn Street the distance of 26 feet 9 inches to a point. Thence extending westward along a line at right angles to the said Fawn Street the distance of 16 feet to a point on the easterly side of the said Iseminger Street. Thence extending northward along the said side of Iseminger Street, the distance of 93 feet 1 1/2 inches to the point of intersection with the said southerly side of Kenilworth Street. Thence extending eastward along the said side of Kenilworth Street 95 feet 5 inches to a point of intersection of the said side of Fawn Street, being the first mentioned point and place of beginning. The said redevelopment contract is in substantial conformity with the amended urban renewal plan and the amended redevelopment proposal approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, Neighborhood Gardens Trust desires to enter into the said redevelopment contract for the Property; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the redevelopment contract submitted by the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (hereinafter "Redevelopment Authority") for the redevelopment of that portion of the South Central Urban Renewal Area, as hereinabove more particularly described, is hereby approved. City Council authorizes the Redevelopment Authority to proceed with minor changes in substantial conformity with the hereby approved redevelopment contract. The Redevelopment Authority is authorized to execute the hereby approved redevelopment contract with Neighborhood Gardens Trust (hereinafter "Redeveloper"). The Redevelopment Authority and the Redeveloper are authorized to take such action in substantial conformity to the redevelopment contract as may be necessary to carry it out. FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Redevelopment Authority and the Redeveloper are authorized to prepare or cause to be prepared for introduction into Council such ordinances or resolutions as may be necessary for changes in zoning, streets, alleys, public ways, street patterns, location and relocation of public utilities, and related items which are required in order to facilitate and effectuate the redevelopment contract hereby approved. Accordingly, the Council hereby declares that it will cooperate in helping to carry out the redevelopment contract and requests the various officials, departments, boards and agencies of the City having administrative responsibilities in the premises likewise to cooperate to such end and to exercise their respective functions and powers in a manner consistent with the redevelopment contract. ..End
