..Title Congratulating the Audenried High School Girls Basketball Team on winning the 2026 Public League Championship against Imhotep High School, securing their fourth straight PPL championship. ..Body WHEREAS, On Sunday, February 22nd, 2026, the Universal Audenried High School Lady Rockets faced Imhotep's Lady Panthers in the 2026 Public League Championship at La Salle University; and WHEREAS, This game features a rematch of the 2025 PPL Championship, in which Audenried won behind Shayla Smith, Audenried's all-time leading scorer and now a player at Penn State. WHEREAS, The Lady Rockets led comfortably for most of the game, with forward Nasiaah Russell scoring 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, earning MVP honors in the process; and WHEREAS, Audenried showed a full team effort, also receiving 14 points from Senior guard Heaven Reese and 12 points from sophomore guard Chloe Kham; and WHEREAS, The Lady Rockets won with a final score of 64-50, proving their excellence on both sides of the ball; and WHEREAS, The team was led to the championship by coach, Kevin Slaughter who has coached at the school for nearly 10 years, instilling discipline, strategic excellence, and a winning culture into the many teams he has coached; and WHEREAS, Audenried finished their season with a 22-4 record and the Public League Championship, adding to what has become a Philadelphia basketball dynasty; and WHEREAS, Audenried's leadership and development have resulted in championships at the high school level, and fostered D1 basketball talent, with players going on to attend Penn State and St. Johns; and WHEREAS, The Audenried Lady Rockets have displayed basketball excellence over the past four years, fostering a culture of greatness and developing players for the collegiate level, now therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors and congratulates the Audenried High School Girls Basketball Team on winning the 2026 Public League Championship against Imhotep High School, securing their fourth straight PPL championship. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the team as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
