..Title Approving the University of Pennsylvania's proposed amendment to its Institutional Development District Master Plan pursuant to Chapter 14-1107(c) of The Philadelphia Code relating to "Zoning and Planning." ..Body WHEREAS, By resolution dated November 15, 2011, the City Planning Commission approved the Master Plan amendment for the University of Pennsylvania for the Steinberg-Dietrich Hall addition, to allow for an addition of 10,140 square feet of floor space to Steinberg-Dietrich Hall, located at 3620 Locust Walk, on the University of Pennsylvania campus; and WHEREAS, This four-story addition will partially fill-in an existing courtyard space between two wings on the building's western side; and WHEREAS, The addition will provide a new door at the west entrance to the building, and accommodate 29 offices, 3 conference rooms, 2 classrooms, and lounge areas; and WHEREAS, An Economic Opportunity Plan pertaining to this expansion project has been included by the University of Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS, Chapter 14-1107(c) requires City Council by resolution to approve, disapprove or defer the Proposed Amendment within 45 days of City Planning's recommendation or the Proposed Amendment is presumed approved; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, That Philadelphia City Council approves the Proposed Amendment pursuant to Chapter 14-1107 (c) of The Philadelphia Code. ..End
