..Title Honoring and congratulating the Imhotep Charter boys basketball team, on their successful 2020-2021 season and overall undefeated record in the Philadelphia Public League boys basketball championships. ..Body WHEREAS, The Imhotep Charter boys basketball team is led by Andre Noble, the longtime head coach and most recently accomplished a milestone victory, having broken the record for the most Public League titles for a head coach; and WHEREAS, Players Naji Reid, Rahmir Barno, Ronny Raphael, Justin Edwards, Shakur Smith, Rafiq Harris, Malcolm Muhammad, Mo Abdullah, Yasmir Satterfield, Stewart Clarke, Haseem Cannon, Jeremiah White, and Amaury Hunter, showed determination, strength, and skill to become Philadelphia Public League champions; and WHEREAS, The team has ranked second overall in Pennsylvania, 1st in the Pennsylvania Division AAAA division, and 1st in Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, After a full season of impressive league and non-league competition, Imhotep Panthers defeated Abraham Lincoln high School on March 26, clinching the title in a 69-56 point victory; and WHEREAS, Imhotep Charter school's mission is, "to provide a standards driven, high quality educational program for urban learners grounded in the Afrikan Principles of Ma'at and the Seven Principles of the Nguzo Saba. Imhotep aims to nurture lifelong learners who are valuable members of the world community." and has demonstrated their commitment to high quality education in several ways; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the Panthers of Imhotep Charter boys basketball team on their 2020-2021 Philadelphia Public League championship win. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy be presented to the Imhotep Charter boys basketball team, further evidencing the admiration and respect of this legislative body. ..End
