..Title Renaming the 2000 Block of Snyder Ave "Anton K. Moore Way" in honor of Anton K. Moore's commitment to giving back to his community and empowering the youth of Philadelphia. ..Body WHEREAS, Anton K. Moore was born and raised in the City of Philadelphia in the Tasker Homes Housing Development; and WHEREAS, Moore's music career began at the age of 16 as an intern then later became a staff member at Power 99 FM; and WHEREAS, During his tenure at Power 99 FM, Moore contributed to major events such as the 2004 Unity Day Celebration, Powerhouse and numerous other community events, earning a reputation for an exceptional work ethic among senior staff; and WHEREAS, Moore's accomplishments at Power 99 FM garnered national attention, leading to his feature in Verizon's "Realize" campaign, an initiative spotlighting ambitious young adults in the music industry, focused on young adults aspiring to have successful careers in the music industry. His image, with the caption "Intern Today, Icon Tomorrow" was displayed on billboards in Philadelphia and Washington DC; and WHEREAS, Moore continued his ascent in the media industry with an internship with Black Entertainment Television (BET) in New York City, eventually becoming a Production Assistant for the iconic show Rap City. He went on to coordinate various BET programs including the BET Awards, 106 & Park, Spring Bling, Rip the Runway and served as a founding producer of The Deal in 2010; and WHEREAS, Despite his career achievements, Moore remained committed to his South Philly roots. Since 2008, he has hosted an annual Peace Week and community block party, offering giveaways and welcoming prominent celebrities such as Jasmine Sullivan, Meek Mill, Angela Simmons, Lil Mama and others to perform; and WHEREAS, Anton Moore is the founder and President of his Unity in the Community, a South Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization that hosts a wide array of community events, including coat and prom drives, community feedings, school tours, mentoring sessions, fundraisers for local schools, turkey giveaways, operation holiday help, and job fairs for the youth; and WHEREAS, Moore's community service has been recognized through numerous accolades, including the Philadelphia 76ers Heroes Among Us Award, the NAACP Community Award, the McDonald's & News One Community Hero Award, the Knight Foundation/Black Male Engagement Award, among many others; and WHEREAS, Under Unity in the Community, Moore founded the Carpentry and Automative Academy, a hands-on training program to equip young high school men with tangible trade skills, discipline, and purpose; and WHEREAS, Over the summer, Moore expanded the Unity in the Community vision globally by leading 17 young men on a transformative 10-day journey to Ghana. The trip blended cultural immersion, historical awareness, and brotherhood with the skills they are building, giving these young leaders a true global perspective; and WHEREAS, Anton K. Moore's unwavering dedication and service has left a lasting and positive impact on the City of Philadelphia and its residents; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby renames the 2000 Block of Snyder Ave "Anton K. Moore Way" in honor of Anton K. Moore's commitment to giving back to his community and empowering the youth of Philadelphia. FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Anton K. Moore as a token of the sincere admiration of this legislative body. ..End
